Soul Retrieval

My journey into the ‘nuts and bolts’ of human physiology led me unexpectedly into another area: that of Shamanic practice and addressing the spiritual dimension that is oftentimes necessary to fully address and complete issues in the mind-body system. After spending some years apprenticing with Michael Harner and Sandra Ingerman of The Foundation for Shamanic Studies, I began offering to my clients, upon occasion and when appropriate, the possibility of Soul Retrieval. The following is a brief description of this process and a sample program that I have conducted around the country…

What is soul retrieval? Soul Retrieval is an ancient Shamanic technique that has been practiced by medicine men and women for thousands of years. Individuals who have experienced soul loss, or trauma, brought about by emotional or physical shock, may lose the ability to function fully in the world. This can manifest as either a minor disconnection, or a major disruption to living life in the modern world. Soul Retrieval is a way of returning essential energy, or spirit, to an individual so that he or she can live life in a fully integrated and balanced manner.

Introductory presentations that I have given around the country generally follow the format given below…

Michael Morgan will give an introductory presentation to explain the concept of Soul Retrieval and lead interested participants in a basic Shamanic journey at the end of the evening. Participants will also have an opportunity to make an appointment for a soul retrieval session, if they wish.

The presentation will review the basic concepts of core shamanism, as developed by Michael Harner, author of The Way of the Shaman, and the principles of Soul Retrieval, which has been revived by Sandra Ingerman, author of Soul Retrieval and Welcome Home.

Michael Morgan has studied with both Michael Harner and Sandra Ingerman and is actively involved in Soul Retrieval work in California, the Midwest and Florida.
